Weyt-k, my name is Lauren Davis and I was born and raised in Kamloops, British Columbia. I would like to acknowledge that I am living, loving, and learning on the traditional and unceded territory of Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc within Secwépemc’ulucw.

This family photo was taken at Centennial Park in Westsyde. Starting from the left: Kevin Davis-brother, Joseph Davis-brother, Janice Davis-mother, Lauren Davis-me, Trevor Paquette- fiancé.
Kamloops has been my home for most of my life but from 2011-2014, I moved to Powell River, British Columbia to live with my father. I attended my first three years of high school at Brooks Secondary School, which taught me how to adapt to a new environment. I found my way back to Kamloops to be with my mother and two brothers in fall of 2014 to finish my last couple years of high school at Westsyde Secondary School. I got accepted in to the Bachelor of Arts program after I graduated high school in 2016 and have been at Thompson Rivers University every since. I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree in the spring of 2021 and shortly after started my Bachelor of Education journey in the fall of 2021. I would not be able to achieve all of this without the support from my family, friends, fiancé, and previous teachers.
I have actively been involved in extra-curricular activities, such as sports, leadership, volunteering, coaching and much more. Throughout elementary and high school, I participated in soccer, basketball, volleyball, drama, track, peer leadership and other activities that were offered at the school. I believe being involved in school activities helped frame my mindset about wanting to become a teacher. I want students to enjoy what they are learning and have as many opportunities to try new things. I have been able to tutor and coach students which made me realize how much I truly love working with children. I really enjoy learning that each student learns in a different way. I enjoy the challenge and effort that must be endured to properly care for each student. I am committed to ensure that each student feels encouraged to push themselves as well as offer them a helping hand. Learning how to correctly adhere to each students need is very stimulating and rewarding for both the teacher and the students.

I believe that my supportive, encouraging, and thorough personality will inspire children to stay engaged. The lessons and future lessons that I structure will be open to all different types of learning styles. I will be prepared every day and put my best efforts forward as well as motivate each student to put their best efforts forward. Although there will be a structured plan in place, I will encourage and accept changes to ensure each student understands the material. Teachers that I have had in the past have influenced my decision to deliver my class style this way. I believe this type of environment both helped and supported my learning in the best way possible.
